The Company was founded some 60 years ago and primarily dealt with property sales by private treaty or auction. As the firm grew surveying – both Building Society mortgage and full structural – became the primary part of the business. As time progressed it became apparent that there was a need for an auction saleroom within the Portsmouth area and once one was found auction sales of chattels commenced.
In the late 70’s enquiries for sales came from insolvency practitioners and bailiffs and these types of sales were inaugurated. Since those initial enquiries the firm now deals predominantly with valuations for insolvency practitioners, disposal of redundant stock, probate, insurance, family disputes, company disposals and acquisitions.
We still carry out some estate agency work along with insurance claim fraud investigations and building design, surveying and construction management for numerous clients.
We hold regular fortnightly deadstock sales in Chichester Market which includes police stolen/recovered and lost property cycles and goods. We also place goods on our web site for sale and are happy to include other peoples goods as well.
We have been fortunate to have available premises in Hambrook Business Centre, Cheesemans Lane, Hambrook. PO18 8XP - Tel. 01243 576688 where we can conduct sales by auction.
These auctions will be every 6 weeks or so, usually on a Thursday at 5.30pm.
We have been asked by many people where they can sell general items, specifically not antique, but items that would be of good quality and/or collectable.
We believe that this small saleroom will ‘fit the bill’ for many and welcome enquiries for entries.
Commission terms are based on 15% of the hammer price and £2 per lot entry fee plus, of course VAT.
We can also arrange for house clearances if so required.
